ECEP™ · Enabling technology, in development

A closed-loop extracorporeal engineering concept.

Hemavive is developing a closed-loop extracorporeal engineering concept designed to bring controlled cell engineering closer to the patient — with the goal of reducing manufacturing complexity, improving standardization, and supporting scalable therapeutic workflows.

ECEP is an enabling manufacturing technology for future use — not the near-term product focus, and not required for the lead program's first IND-enabling path.
The concept

Patient, platform, product, patient.

A closed, extracorporeal approach to engineer hematopoietic and immune cells, held at a high level here — implementation detail is available under CDA / NDA.

01

Patient

Cells are drawn into a closed circuit at the point of care.

02

Closed-loop engineering platform

Controlled cell selection, processing and engineering inside a closed, automated workflow.

03

Engineered cell product

A characterized product, released against defined potency and safety criteria.

04

Return to patient

Infusion without the delay of centralized, single-patient manufacturing.

High-level schematic of Hemavive's future closed-loop extracorporeal engineering concept.

What it is meant to change

Targets, not results.

Time to treat
months → 12–24 h
Cost per patient
$2–3M → ~$200K
Manufacturing model
central → point of care

These are development targets, not demonstrated results. ECEP is in development and not yet clinically validated.

IP

Protected platform concept.

Closed and distributed HSPC processing and engineering is covered by one of four provisional applications filed in 2026 — preserving future automation and manufacturing optionality.
